Project description:
The Master Plan for the Reconstruction of the Kyiv-Zhulyany Airport (IEV) Airfield Complex was developed to increase throughput capacity, improve flight safety, and ensure compliance with ICAO international aviation standards.
The project is aimed at modernizing the airport infrastructure, optimizing the spatial organization of the airfield, improving conditions for receiving mid-range aircraft, and introducing modern air traffic control technologies.
Project goal:
Creating a strategic basis for thelong-term development of Kyiv-Zhulyany Airport as a modern European transport hub.
The Master Plan is designed to ensure:
- increasing flight safety;
- infrastructure development taking into account the growth of passenger traffic;
- implementation of modern standards of navigation, maintenance and control;
Main design solutions:
- Implementation of an Instrument Landing System (ILS)
Technical proposals have been developed for the installation of a Category II ILS system, which ensures the reception of aircraft in difficult weather conditions (at least in one direction of the runway).

- Runway Modernization
It is proposed to increase the runway capacity and optimize its length to ensure safe and efficient operation of category 4C aircraft.
- Organization of aprons and service areas
Detailed plans for the placement of aircraft on the apron have been developed, taking into account hangar facilities, service roads, maintenance areas, logistics of fueling operations and the movement of special vehicles.
- Engineering and technological support
The positions for the placement of apron lighting systems,
- Project implementation stages
The Master Plan provides forstages of airfield development, which allow for reconstruction workwithout completely closing the airport, ensuring the continuity of civil aviation operations.
